About Me:	Dr. Rick Patrick is the Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sylacauga, Alabama. He serves as the Founding Executive Director of Connect 316, a ministry fellowship embracing the Traditional stream of salvation doctrine in Southern Baptist life as opposed to the Calvinist stream. In this role, he serves as the publisher of SBC Today, an online news and analysis blog receiving over 360,000 views per year from Christians serving in 170 different countries, and as the administrator of the 316 Roundtable, a public forum with over 800 members connecting by means of social media. Dr. Patrick holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Dallas Theological Seminary. Since 1991, he has served as pastor of three churches in Texas and two churches in Alabama. He has served as the Moderator of the Bessemer Baptist Association, and has also served on the boards of the San Marcos Women's Pregnancy Center, the Highland Lakes Baptist Encampment, the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions and the Board of Directors of The Alabama Baptist newspaper. Dr. Patrick has actively engaged in mission projects both at home and abroad, including short-term mission trips to Utah, Georgia, Illinois, Ukraine and Mexico. He is a 2014 graduate of Leadership Sylacauga, and has also served as an officer in the Coosa Valley Ministerial Association. His wife Karen is a licensed occupational therapist with degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. They have two grown sons: Tyler, who is studying Law at Samford University, and Evan, who is studying Worship Leadership at the University of Mobile.
